iphone-3gs-erase Is it that time of year again?  Thinking of upgrading to the latest version of the iPhone but worry about safely removing the personal data on your old one?

Naturally existing iPhone owners will probably be looking to upgrade to the latest handset which raises the question -what to do with old one?  Well whether it’s off to eBay or a phone recycler you’ll want to erase your personal data and files first.  Follow these steps and it’ll be a worry free process!

Steps

1.  Go Back to your iPhone home screen, then open Settings

2.  Tap on General

3.  Scroll down the page and then tap on Reset

4.  Select Erase All Content and Settings

5. You will then be asked twice to confirm that you wish to erase everything. Go ahead and confirm it. Make sure you have copied or backed up anything that you want to keep first!

Make sure your battery is fully charged before you start as wiping your iPhone clean can be a lengthy process (about an hour!) .

When it has finished you will be left with a clean install of the iPhone OS and be ready to upgrade to the latest model- whatever it ends up being called this year!
